Michigan has a great pass rush, Wisconsin doesn’t

If Michigan can keep the Badgers run game in check, that won’t bode well for Hornibrook, because the Wolverines boast one of the best pressure packages in college football. In six games, the Wolverines have 18 sacks and with Rashan Gary looking like he will play, the defensive line will be close to full strength.

In addition to Gary, Chase Winovich is one of the best edge rushers in the Big Ten and others like Kwity Paye and Josh Uche have also stepped up in recent weeks. The fact Hornibrook also isn’t mobile helps. Those kinds of quarterbacks have caused Michigan problems, so that should allow the Wolverines to tee off.

When Michigan has the ball, the Wolverines have much less to fear from the Badgers pass rush, which has generated just five sacks in five games. Those numbers aren’t great and the UM offensive line also ranks 25th in sacks allowed, so if that’s any indication, Patterson should have plenty of time Saturday night.

On the other hand, Hornibrook shouldn’t and if that holds true, it will have a huge impact on the final score.
