Higdon gets over 100 again

After getting held to 72 yards rushing in the season-opening loss to Notre Dame, Karan Higdon has been on an absolute tear, with three straight games of over 100 yards rushing. Last week, he carried the ball 31 times against Northwestern and churned out 115 yards and two touchdowns.

That effort was on the heels of 136 yards on 12 carries against Nebraska. Like the Huskers, Maryland has a solid run defense, ranking fourth in the Big Ten at 104 yards allowed per game and just 2.7 per rush.

Yet, Nebraska had even better stats coming into its game with Michigan and Higdon ran all over them. On Saturday, he will do the same to Maryland and he will get his 10th 100-yard game as a Wolverine.

Not coincidentally, Michigan football is undefeated when Higdon runs for 100 yards or more, so if Higdon has a good day pounding the rock, the Wolverines should find a way to win.
