Michigan goes down again to Ohio State, 27-23 (8-1)

There are a lot of games that I have Michigan football winning that I didn’t even expect. Only recently, when putting together this post did I started believing Michigan football could beat Wisconsin and Penn State.

A few weeks ago, I probably would have had Michigan sitting at 7-1 heading into this game instead of 8-0. Yet, the loss Saturday by Wisconsin swayed me to believe this Wolverines team can beat the Badgers.

And believe it or not, I have always had faith that this team will beat Michigan State and Penn State. The bottom line is that Michigan has more talent than the Spartans and with a better quarterback, the rivalry will finally shift directions. Penn State lost Barkley and without him, the Nittany Lions are good, not great.

Yes, I believe Michigan football can beat Wisconsin, Michigan State and Penn State. But can the the Wolverines beat the Buckeyes? Sadly, heartbreakingly, I just can’t see it.

The game will be like the one back in 2016. It will be for all the marbles and basically, the Big Ten championship. Whoever wins that game in late November will win the Big Ten and probably head to the College Football Playoff. Unfortunately, it will be Ohio State, not Michigan.

Patterson will make a difference and the defense will play its heart out, however, the evil Buckeyes will find a way, relegating Michigan to a 10-2 record and a possible Rose Bowl berth.
