Wolverines roll and hold SMU scoreless

While Michigan has a great defense, SMU has a really poor offense. Even though the Mustangs are running the air raid offense and have a returning quarterback in Ben Hicks, the adjustment to new head coach Sonny Dykes has not gone well.

SMU is currently averaging fewer than 250 yards per game and outside of a 9-0 lead on a long touchdown run early against TCU, nothing has really gone right for the Mustangs, who were also blown out on the road against North Texas.

The win over Western Michigan didn’t really silence any of the Wolverines critics and to that end, UM will come out sharp again. The defense barely missed a shutout a week ago and this time around, I think Michigan gets it.

I also think the offense puts together another 40-point outing. The running game will be solid again; Chris Evans will make a big impact in this game; Chase Winovich will get a couple sacks; Rashan Gary will force a fumble and Patterson will have a big day, something like 300 yards and three touchdowns.

It may seem a tad optimistic but I think the Wolverines played like a well-oiled machine Saturday and win the game 41-0.
