Gary needs to play like a top-10 pick

In two seasons playing for the Wolverines, Gary has been productive. He has 16.5 tackles for loss and six sacks and last season, he was pretty dominant against the run. Gary registered 58 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.

Yet at around 6-5 and 300 pounds, Gary is an absolute freak, one that has the potential to be the top pick in the 2019 NFL draft. If he wants to be that, he needs to make a greater impact. In two seasons, he has just one forced fumble. He also doesn’t have a single pass defensed in his career, which seems odd for his height and athleticism.

Gary has been the biggest get of Harbaugh’s coaching tenure to this point and for the most part, he has lived up to the billing. However, this will likely be his final season in Ann Arbor and it would be nice to see him take a leap this season and at least get double-digit sacks.

He is good enough to take over games by himself and he has done that during stretches as a Michigan football player. But those moments need to come more often and this season, there is a good chance they will.
