Shea Patterson has to live up to the hype

If there is one player on the Michigan football roster that should be feeling some pressure right about now, it’s Patterson, the transfer quarterback from Ole Miss, who is also the team’s designated savior.

Basically, Patterson is like the Harbaugh of 2015. He is everything Michigan has been missing and if he lives up to the hype, that might be true. Yet, for a kid that has only played in 10 college game in two seasons, savior seems like a tall order.

Patterson thrived in the SEC, there is no doubt about that. He tossed 23 touchdown passes but was also intercepted 12 times. He’s good but he is going to have some work to do.

Hopefully, the running game with Karan Higdon and Chris Evans will be able to carry him a little bit, because nothing helps a quarterback more than a great running game. Yet, at the end of the day, he’s going to have to be great against Ohio State and Michigan State, otherwise, the rest doesn’t matter so much.

But if things don’t go as planned early for Patterson, the love fest might soon come to an end. Yet, he is just one guy facing some pressure. There are plenty of others, including Rashan Gary.
