Wagner would be great as a Boston Celtic

The Boston Celtics have one of the best rosters in the NBA, one that is really to challenge in the Eastern Conference and maybe even for an NBA title. With Kyrie Irving, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Gordon Hayward, as well as Al Horford, Boston is loaded with talent.

Those five players are locked up for the next season at least and it’s a group that could end up winning some championships. Tatum is a rising star along with Brown and we all know what Irving and Hayward can do too. So why would Wagner make sense?

Well, there are a few reasons. Marcus Morris was the stretch four last season and excelled in that role. But how long can Boston keep him around with everyone else they need to pay? He’s also 28 years old. Beyond that, Boston doesn’t have a lot of 3-point shooting bigs behind him, so another would be helpful.

Boston doesn’t need someone to contribute right away. They are title contenders already and that means Wagner could develop and under the watchful eye of Brad Stevens, who knows how good he could become.

The Celtics pick 27th and don’t have another pick, so it might be time to make a splash with the former Michigan basketball star.
