Wagner would fit perfectly in Atlanta

Another team that should look at Wagner late in the first round is the Philadelphia 76ers. Just look at the personnel and imagine Wagner with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.

Right now, the Sixers have a glaring hole at power forward, not only for next season but for the future. Wagner could fill that need. He’s a decent rebounder and could contribute there, but mostly his offensive repertoire would be the attraction.

The 76ers do have some talented shooters. But if J.J. Redick does not return, the 3-point shooting will take a hit. Wagner certainly won’t replace that production, however, he could add to the 3-point production of the four spot.

Obviously, it’s hard to make decisions on next year, this would be a move for the future. Wagner could be a great compliment to Embiid and Simmons down the road. He also adds another scoring presence inside and a guy who can play center in a pinch, especially in smaller lineups.

One thing though, that could hurt his chances of landing in Philly, is the fact that the Sixers have two early second rounders. It’s possible they could want Wagner, but would rather take him with the 38th or 39th selection. We shall see, but overall, it makes sense.
