Nets could use a stretch four

There is no doubt that Wagner has started to gain more traction in the past few weeks, especially with teams near the end of the first round. One potential fit is the Nets.

Brooklyn broke the mold and took Caris Levert two years ago and maybe another Michigan basketball player will sneak into the first round on the Nets roster. Brooklyn owns the 29th pick and could try to get Wagner in the second round, but after just trading for Dwight Howard, it might make sense to have a big man that can shoot.

Wagner certainly has areas to improve. However, he is a tremendous shooter and has a great touch around the basket. Of course, he would have to guard other power forwards, which could be problematic, yet having Howard as a rim protector could help.

The Nets are still a long ways from being good, so taking a shot on a talent like Wagner wouldn’t be a bad idea near the end of the first round.
