The defense will be championship caliber again

If there is one thing you can be super confident about when it comes to Michigan football and the 2018 season, it’s that the Wolverines will again have one of the top defenses in the Big Ten, maybe even the nation.

If there is one thing Jim Harbaugh has done, he has brought back dominating defense to Michigan. It has always been a staple of the program, just look back to 1997, the last Wolverines squad to win a national championship. When Michigan is good, it has a great defense, a good quarterback and good skill players.

It doesn’t sound complicated, because it’s not. The other parts of that equation are still somewhat unknown. But not the defense. With guys like Rashan Gary, Chase Winovich, Devin Bush Jr. Khaleke Hudson, Lavert Hill and many others, UM is loaded with talent.

Other highly-recruited players will grow into bigger roles and with Don Brown running the show, the aggressive, dominating defense doesn’t appear to be going anywhere, anytime soon.
