Michigan Basketball: 3 Predictions for UM and the Final Four
Michigan will play well in the title game, but can it seal the deal?
This is by far the most difficult prediction. If Michigan does indeed advance to the title game and faces either Kansas or Villanova, can the Wolverines do something the program hasn’t done is 29 years? Can it win the national championship?
Michigan Wolverines Basketball
It’s hard to say. I believe this team has what it takes to win. It has a tremendous defense, great individual talent, works well together and has one of the best coaches in the country. UM has all the pieces but can it put them together for 40 minutes, in the biggest game of their lives?
Kansas and Villanova are both very good teams, but they aren’t better than Michigan. The Wolverines are viewed favorably by oddsmakers and the truth is, this Final Four is truly there for the taking.
There was no dominant team in college basketball this season, most years there isn’t anymore. The championship game will be a great challenge. Avoiding foul trouble, which cost the 2013 team, will be huge. Making free throws will be important too.
The Wolverines will need to be making shots to earn the title of national champions and Moe Wagner, as well as Charles Matthews, will need to be stars. Plus, Robinson, Rahkman, Simpson and everyone else needs to play their part.
Unfortunately, I can’t predict a Michigan basketball national championship. I am too superstitious and to unsure, but I will say, I have a good feeling about this team and let’s just leave it at that.
