Quarterback

Of course, everyone is going to want to follow the battle at quarterback. Whenever there is a competition there, it gets attention. But after Michigan football brought in former top recruit Shea Patterson, it only amplified the excitement.

At this point, everyone is waiting to see if Patterson will be cleared to play right away. If not, then Brandon Peters, Dylan McCaffrey or Joe Milton will start next season. If granted immediate eligibility, Patterson becomes the instant favorite.

However, what happens in the next few weeks could be part of the story. For one, it will show how Patterson has adapted to Michigan’s offense. It will also give Peters and McCaffrey to show if they have improved.

This spring might also be one of the last chances for Peters to have a shot at the job this fall. If he has a poor showing and Patterson is able to play, he might never start another game for the Wolverines. Quarterback is the big unknown for Michigan and hopefully the spring will shed some light on the position.
