Michigan will be much better Saturday vs Houston

In the NCAA Tournament, the name of the game is survive and advance. Against Montana, the Wolverines did just that, but it will be harder to survive against a red-hot Houston team.

The Cougars, led by veteran head coach Kelvin Sampson are on a roll. They made it to the American championship game, before narrowly losing to Cincinnati and beat San Diego State thanks to an incredible performance from Rob Gray, who scored 39 points, including the game winner against the Aztecs.

If Michigan basketball is going to keep this run going, it needs to have its best game. And after the sluggish showing against Montana, it will. One good thing about UM, is that its well coached and it usually bounces back from poor performances.

The Wolverines haven’t lost back-to-back games all season long and I don’t see them being sloppy in back-to-back games. Wagner will be motivated and when he’s on, Michigan can beat anybody.

So don’t get down on the Wolverines just yet. Houston is going to be tough, but I have a feeling, we will see a much better Michigan basketball team Saturday night.
