Moe Wagner can’t get into foul trouble

One of the keys for Michigan basketball is always Moe Wagner. He’s the best offensive player on the team and the guy that John Beilein likes to run his offense through.

We also know that Wagner has a difficult time keeping himself out of foul trouble. The German is an aggressive player and sometimes, he commits foul that cannot be perceived at all as intelligent. Beilein has even called him out, saying he needs to learn the German word for dumb foul.

In case you forgot just how special Wagner can be, here’s a look back at what he did against Louisville in the 2017 NCAA Tourney.

The Wolverines are capable of winning without Wagner having a great game, but in the NCAA Tournament, that’s a risky proposition. The last thing Michigan needs is Wagner getting a couple of quick fouls.

Taking away the best player on the floor is a great way to keep the Griz in it, especially because they probably aren’t used to defending a 6-11 guy as skilled as Moe Wagner.

When it comes down to it, if Michigan can take care of the basketball, control Rorie and keep Wagner on the floor, it should find a way to beat Montana and advance in the NCAA Tournament.
