Michigan Basketball: 3 takeaways from Wolverines’ Big Ten Championship
Michigan is without a doubt, the Big Ten’s best team
Michigan State will certainly argue, but after the Wolverines won the Big Ten Tournament, they are, without question, the best team in the conference. Yes, they didn’t win the regular season title and that will be the Spartans argument.
However, with the unbalanced schedule, the regular season title is flawed. Teams don’t play the same schedule, simple as that. The Spartans were 15-3, Michigan was 13-5, but they didn’t play the same schedule.
Michigan recorded at least 1 win over every Big Ten team this season.

Also, with the win over Purdue, Michigan basketball beat every team in the Big Ten at least once. Michigan State, which is 0-2 against the Wolverines, can’t say the same thing. So not only are the Wolverines tournament champs, they are the best team, bar none.
It’s also why Michigan should be referred to as Big Ten Champions. UM owns the title. It earned it.
