Simpson keeps getting better and better

If there was one takeaway from the Wolverines win over Ohio State Sunday, the play of Simpson is one of the biggest. In one of the most important games of the season, Simpson delivered on both ends of the floor.

His defense is normally on point, but his offense is sometimes a little shaky. Yet, on Sunday, he played incredibly well on both ends of the floor. In his last three games, he has only scored 10 points, but against the Buckeyes, he finished with 13, including a critical 3-pointer in the second half.

Yet, his ability to take care of the basketball is even more impressive. He finished with zero turnovers in 30 minutes. He also finished with two steals, three assists and three rebounds. Guard play is key in March, come tournament time and with MAAR and Simpson, the Wolverines look set.

His 46 percent mark at the free throw line is still worrisome, but after shooting 71 percent last season, it seems like just a mental block. Hopefully, he will shake it soon. Because outside of that, he has turned into a solid point guard, one about to lead Michigan basketball back to the big dance.
