Michigan basketball has done enough to make NCAA Tournament

Heading into the final stretch of the season, Michigan head coach John Beilein knew the Wolverines had work to do. But now, if that work means clinching a berth in the NCAA Tournament, it’s complete.

Michigan is 11-7 in the Big Ten and now 22-7 overall. UM added an impressive win over Ohio State, the eighth-ranked teams in the country. The Wolverines also got payback for blowing a 22-point lead against Columbus back in December.

It’s somewhat annoying how Michigan can play so well against elite teams like Michigan State, Purdue and Ohio State, but during its recent win streak, its been more consistent. With Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman and Moe Wagner both playing so well, Michigan is hard to beat.

Jordan Poole has also been spectacular at times and he was Sunday against Ohio State, making four shots from 3-point range and finishing with 15 points. Zavier Simpson also had a defining moment with 13 points, three assists and zero turnovers.
