Can Michigan snag the 5-star offensive tackle?

While Reese is the big fish for Michigan football, the other high-profile recruit its targeting Wednesday is left tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere.

Michigan has done everything possible to lock down his commitment, even practicing at his high school during the Outback Bowl. However, it’s hard to know if it made any difference with the Florida prospect, who is the top offensive tackle and No. 7 player in the 2018 class.

With all the troubles along the offensive line in recent years, this would be a huge get for the Wolverines. Yet, there is plenty of competition from Florida, Alabama, Ohio State and Notre Dame.

At this point, a clear favorite hasn’t really emerged. Some expect Petit-Frere to stick with Florida, where he was originally committed before the coaching change, but anything can happen. We will all find out at 10 AM EST, when he will announce selection.

Unfortunately, for Michigan, it seems likely he decides to go somewhere else.
