Rashan Gary needs to dominate like Maurice Hurst

During his first two seasons at Michigan, Gary has played extremely well. As of right now, he’s certainly has the feel of a first-round pick, one that is probably going to play just one more season in Ann Arbor.

Simply put, guys like Gary don’t grow on trees. If you haven’t seen this guy run, you are missing out, because it’s pretty incredible. Guys that are 6-5 and around 300 pounds aren’t supposed to be able to the run the 40 in 4.57. But that’s exactly what Gary did last spring.

The guy is a phenomenal talent, however, that talent needs to start translating into more production, especially now that Maurice Hurst is gone. It’s true that Hurst dominated inside and Gary did a lot on the outside, but in two seasons, he has just six sacks, although he does have 16.5 TFL.

Gary gets double teamed a lot and that’s part of it too, yet so do a lot of other guys. With his ability and the fact that 2018 is already going to be his last season at Michigan (most likely) it’d be disappointing if he didn’t have at least one 10-sack season. It’s not expecting too much if he is fully capable of doing it and Gary is, so we will see.
