Michigan Basketball: 3 takeaways from Wolverines win over Iowa
Moe Wagner still doesn’t look healthy
Before suffering an ankle injury against Texas, Moe Wagner was having a great junior season. He was averaging more than 15 PPG and more than seven rebounds. His numbers are still good, but his last two outings haven’t been.
Wagner returned to the lineup last Saturday against Jacksonville, but scored just seven points in the win. Tuesday against Iowa, he scored just four points and grabbed just four rebounds.
Even worse, Wagner was 2-of-6 against Iowa from the field. In the game against Jacksonville, he was just 3-for-7. Obviously, shooting 5-of-13 in two games isn’t what we have come to expect from Moe, so that tells us he’s not 100 percent just yet.

Michigan basketball has a few days before it will play at home against Illinois. Hopefully that will be enough for Wagner to get back to himself. Because right now, he just doesn’t look like the same player and against the top teams in the Big Ten, that won’t cut it.
