Can Brandon Peters make an impression?

One of the big stories surrounding Michigan football recently, has been the recruitment of Mississippi transfer Shea Patterson, the five-star quarterback that is now coming to Michigan.

Now, just because the Wolverines got Patterson doesn’t mean they don’t like Peters. Patterson had ties to Michigan and no team is going to turn down the chance to get the top-rated quarterback in the 2016 class.

But there is a long way to go before giving Patterson the starting job. First things first, he needs to be ruled eligible to play in 2018, which is far from a sure thing. Nothing is when it comes to the NCAA. Secondly, he needs to beat out Peters, which might not be as easy as some might think,

With all that has happened, it will be interesting to see how Peters handles everything. If he comes out and plays well in the Outback Bowl, that could tell us a lot about him. It could also give him a leg up on the job heading into spring practice.

Whether Patterson can play next season or not, Peters needs to play well. Dylan McCaffrey is also waiting to get his shot at the starting job, so Peters needs all the momentum he can get.
