Jim Harbaugh has been great at getting big-name recruits to play for Michigan football. Now, he will try to land some highly-touted Mississippi transfers.

It’s really hard for Michigan football to stay out of the news. First, there was the controversy, however made up, over the Wolverines getting into the Outback Bowl over Michigan State.

Now, the Wolverines are making different headlines and that’s with recruiting, as Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh has some big-name transfers heading to Ann Arbor for an official visit Saturday.

According to Bruce Feldman, the Wolverines will bring in five-star quarterback Shea Patterson and  Deontay Anderson in for official visits. Both players are from Mississippi, which is currently under NCAA sanctions.

The NCAA is giving some players the ability to transfer without sitting out a year. It’s not clear if that will apply to Patterson, but either way, it would be a huge get.

Anderson, who was Second Team All-SEC as a freshman, sat out last season. He had breakfast with Harbaugh today, according to the snapchat he sent to Nick Baumgardner.

Both players, will make official visits to Michigan football. However, they won’t be the only ones, as wide receiver Van Jefferson is reportedly coming as well. Harbaugh also made waves when his recruiting plane was spotted in Oxford, Mississippi.

Michigan fans are getting impatient with Harbaugh. But this is why he is so valuable to the Wolverines. Players love him and he has a shot to get any kid in the country. That’s not something UM had under Brady Hoke.

The Wolverines have always been a national program. But under Harbaugh, it’s gotten even better. Now three kids trying to leave an SEC school, including a former five-star quarterback, are interested in coming to Ann Arbor.

Patterson, a sophomore, tossed 17 touchdown passes for the Rebels this season. He also completed 63 percent of his passes, but did have nine interceptions. He also averaged 8.4 yards per attempt.

Jefferson could also be a big addition to the Michigan offense. He has 91 receptions for 999 yards and four touchdowns in two seasons. Anderson, a safety, would also fit in well with one of the best defenses in the nation.

Again, who knows if these guys will officially commit to Michigan and if they do, who knows when they will be able to play. Hopefully right away, but if not, the Wolverines would still be getting some very talented players.
