Michigan Football vs Minnesota: 3 bold predictions for the Wolverines
Peters will throw for at least 200 yards and two touchdowns
It’s safe to say that everyone who follows Michigan football is interested to see how he plays Saturday night. Not only is Minnesota a much better all-around team than Rutgers, it will be Peters first game as the starter. He will want to play well and lay claim to the job for the rest of the season.
Yet, looking good against Rutgers and a pretty stingy Minnesota defense are two different things. The Gophers rank fourth in the Big Ten in pass defense (184 YPG) and are sixth in pass defense efficiency. They also rank in the top half of the conference with eight interceptions.
However, Michigan should be able to get things going on the ground, which will help open things up for Peters. Some more aggressive play calling, especially some first-down passing, would also be helpful.
The Wolverines have good receivers and if Peters can get them the ball, they will make him look good. He won’t be perfect, but he will do a good job of avoiding mistakes. He will also do enough to lock down the starting job.
