Michigan Football: 4 reasons the month of November matters
Michigan football may not be able to win a Big Ten championship or earn a spot in the college football playoff, but here’s why November matters in a big way.
The Michigan football team isn’t having the type of season it wanted back in August. However, all is not lost and when it comes to the final month of the season, there is still plenty at stake.
In general, college football is a week-to-week thing. It’s always reminded me of politics. It’s very regional, traditional and it seems to change on a daily basis. It is definitely a business of what you have you done for me lately.
Your program is also being judged every single week. Winning games matters. Being ranked high, playing well on national television and trending in the right direction is important. Your reputation is on the line every week and with a young team, Michigan football needs to finish strong.
Of course, the fact that Brandon Peters (likely according to Jim Harbaugh) is now the starter, the stretch run is even more important. That is of course, unless Wilton Speight comes back in the next few weeks and reclaims his role.
Either way, Michigan has a lot on the line in the next few weeks, not only for this season, but the next one as well. UM needs to start winning big games and its young players need to keep developing.
Getting into a good bowl game and climbing back into the rankings also matters. They also come with winning, so here are four reasons why November is a hugely important month for Michigan football.
