Michigan Football: What we learned from Wolverines win over Rutgers
Brandon Peters is the new starting quarterback
For weeks, Michigan football fans have been hoping to see Brandon Peters and Saturday against Rutgers, those fans finally got their wish. And it turns out, they were right to hope for Peters, who turned things around and led Michigan to a 35-14 win.
Who knows if Peters is going to be a star, but he looked like exactly what Michigan needs at quarterback right now. He was decisive, accurate and he trusted his receivers to make plays. The youngster played with confidence and it showed.
When he was finished, he completed 10-of-14 passes for 127 yards, to go along with one touchdown and most importantly, no turnovers.
Peters also did a good job getting different receivers involved. 10 different players caught passes against Rutgers, with eight having a catch of 10 yards or more.
As the tweet above shows, Harbaugh is committed to Peters as the starter. Minnesota should offer a stiffer challenge, but from the second quarter on, Michigan had its best offensive game of the season, thanks to Peters.
