Who should be the starting QB going forward?

You never want a player to lose their job because of injury, but it’s possible that Speight lost his after being knocked out of the game against Purdue.

John O’Korn wasn’t perfect by any means. But he was efficient and led scoring drives of 84, 86, 65 and 76. Those drives also averaged about nine plays, so they were methodical and exactly what you’d expect from a savvy vet.

O’Korn has been in this offense three years now, if you count his redshirt season and Saturday, he played like it. He made good decisions and got the ball to guys who can do things with it.

The wide receivers didn’t get involved much, but the tight ends sure did and that’s a good formula going forward. Michigan football doesn’t need a Heisman winner at quarterback. What it needs is someone who can move the chains and get touchdowns in the red zone.

It remains to be seen what happens with Speight and his health, but there is no doubt that Michigan football now has a quarterback controversy.
