Trust the process

It’s important to remember that it is only week 2. Michigan is 2-0 and ranked 7th in the country in the AP poll. Things could definitely be worse.

Although these next couple of games could be tougher then previously expected, there is plenty of time for Wilton Speight to improve, and I would expect him to do so.

Jim Harbaugh has a proven track record of developing the quarterback position. He has been able to do so at both the collegiate level and in the NFL. Trust in him and believe in the fact that he believes in Speight. Jim Harbaugh is not the type of coach to stubbornly stick with a player as a starter if he believed the back up would give the team a better chance to win. Wilton Speight is the best option Michigan has.

Another reason to believe in Speight is because he doesn’t need to be more then what he is. There are more formula’s to being a winning team other than having a Heisman finalist QB putting up ridiculous numbers every week.

The Wolverines are in the lucky position of not having to rely on Wilton Speight to win them games. They have a stellar defense, and a reliable run-game.  Speight doesn’t need to be a superman, he just needs to put them in a position to win. He needs to provide the type of performance he did for most of 2016.

If he can do that, and avoid giving up turnovers unlike he was able to do in big games late last year, then the Wolverines have a strong enough team to be able to have a big year in 2017.
