Ty Isaac looks like the guy at running back

Earlier this week, I wrote that Ty Isaac should be the feature back for Michigan football or that he should at least get more carries. Well, Jim Harbaugh had the same idea, feeding him the rock 20 times for 133 yards.

Isaac, who broke off some big runs against Florida, also took a power sweep off the left side for 53 yards against the Bearcats. Chris Evans, the starter against the Gators had just five carries for 15 yards.

That’s not to say Evans should be out of the loop. Giving both the ball is the best way to do it. However, if Isaac keeps producing like he has so far this season, there is little doubt he should be the primary ball carrier.

I firmly believe that if Michigan football is going to have a chance to win the Big Ten this season or make the College Football Playoff, it needs to possess a dominant running game.

UM couldn’t run well enough to win against Ohio State, Florida State or Iowa last season and until the Wolverines can dominate on the ground, they won’t be able to routinely beat elite teams.
