Players who stood out

Ty Isaac: 20 carries for 133 yards, I believe were his official stats – as many total yards as Saquon Barkley got today, not too shabby. Ty has really come on strong in his 5th yr. I like what he does for the team and appreciate the sacrifices and humble attitude he’s had to get right with the coaches and give himself this opportunity.

Grant Perry: The way he filled in for DPJ on Punt Returns, the way he always gives his all on tough catches over the middle, blocking for everyone on the team – whatever it takes – he’s a special hard-nosed ‘glue guy’. And couldn’t you just feel how bad he wanted it on that 3rd qtr. TD? That’s the kind of play that can show the youngsters what it takes to be a winner.

Rashan Gary: As a few people I know noticed – he really took exception to that targeting call which was before it wasn’t. It seemed to fire up him up. My colleague Douglas Brouwer mentioned this in his post on the game earlier and my son mentioned it in one of the many texts we shared during the game. He was a different player after that, for sure. Another thing – I had forgotten that he had lost 10-20 pounds coming into the season, so I’m thinking he may be more of a speed player than a power player this season. Just as long as he doesn’t get too far upfield when going around the corner – I’m good.
