Projected starter: Duncan Robinson

We all remember the days of the small lineups at Michigan. After all, Robinson III and Zak Irvin basically played the four for three straight seasons.

One of the great things about Wagner and Wilson was that Michigan basketball no longer had to play small ball. With two, athletic, 6-10 bigs that could shoot, the Wolverines were a matchup nightmare.

As a sophomore, Robinson showed he can be a prolific scorer, as he averaged 11.2 PPG in 28 minutes. Last season, in 20 minutes, he averaged 7.7. He shot 45 and 42 percent from deep in his first two seasons in Ann Arbor and shooting remains his biggest overall strength.

It’s conceivable that he wouldn’t start, simply cause he will be in a tough spot defensively.  But that would mean Livers, Jon Teske or Austin Davis starts alongside Wagner and to me, Robinson is a better option.

He just need to score the heck out of the ball to make it worthwhile.
