Moritz Wagner is the single biggest reason Michigan basketball beat Louisville

One of the biggest takeaways from the Wolverines win over Louisville, is the fact that Wagner has developed into a truly dominant player.

In the second half, when Michigan was down nine, Wagner put the team on his back. He scored eight of UM’s first 10 points out of the break and scored 18 total in the second half.

The 3-pointer he made to give Michigan the lead was a thing of beauty and the drive he had for a layup late, was even more important.

But the way Michigan ran its offense through Wagner for much of the game shows just how far he has come. It was also proof that the Wolverines don’t have to be a perimeter oriented team anymore.

Hopefully, NBA scouts aren’t paying attention, because the fact that Wagner is really good, won’t remain a secret for long. Unfortunately, it’s probably out already.
