Michigan Basketball vs Nebraska: 3 Takeaways from the Wolverines Win
Zak Irvin back to being Zak
Zak Irvin has always been a streaky player. There is no question about that. But at times this season, for a senior, he has been especially inconsistent.
Yet, in the past couple of weeks, he has started to turn things around and last night in Lincoln, I felt like I was looking at the old Zak Irvin.
In fact, I got a similar feeling Wednesday night in the loss to Northwestern. Irvin had 12 against the Wildcats and Sunday against the Huskers, he had 15. He actually has scored in double figures in five of six games.
But for the second straight outing, he looked like his attacking, aggressive self. He knocked down three 3-pointers against Nebraska and if Irvin can keep doing that, it’s going to make this Michigan team that much harder to beat.
And after the senior has gone a combined 12-of-19 from the field in the past two games, it looks like he might finally be back to being the guy we are accustomed to seeing.
