Virginia Tech just needs to win, whether its 6-3 or in a shootout

Certainly, Washington losing tonight is probably the most likely scenario for Michigan football to make the College Football Playoff, but it’s not the only one.

So fear not Wolverines fans, if the Huskies win tonight, all hope is not lost.

That’s because third-ranked Clemson still has to earn its way into the final four with a win over No.23 Virginia Tech in the ACC Championship Game.

It’s hard to see the Hokies pulling the upset over Deshaun Watson and the explosive Tigers. But I also didn’t see Pittsburgh beating them in Death Valley either, so anything’s possible.

The nice thing about this game, is that it doesn’t matter how many the Hokies win by. They have no chance at the playoff. So if it’s 3-0 or 50-49, it doesn’t matter.

The best chance is probably an old version of Beamer ball. The Hokies defense will need to be all-worldly, while a blocked kick or return touchdown wouldn’t hurt either.

But if the Hokies somehow find a way to win the ACC championship Saturday night, Michigan football fans should celebrate, cause their Wolverines would likely be playoff bound.
