The consistency
Most of the time when you’re talking about a flashy player, there’s the inherent downside that is inconsistency. One game he’s great, the next he’s in the dumps.
That wasn’t ever the case for Albrecht.
Just check out these stats.
Before last season, Albrecht had made one career start at Michigan. But with injuries to Derrick Walton Jr. and Caris LeVert, Albrecht made 18 starts.
Albrecht played 991 minutes last year, 129 more minutes than he had in his first two seasons combined. The increased playing time did not make him more susceptible to turnovers though. He led the Big Ten with a 2.95 assist-to-turnover ratio. That tied for 14th-best in the country.
And as MLive’s Brendan Quinn points out above, Michigan was especially good when Albrecht was able to find open teammates.
Next: Michigan is blank without Derek Walton Jr.
Albrecht has made his impression at the Crisler Center. Watching Michigan without him is going to take some getting used to.
