Michigan Football vs. Ohio State: Buckeyes Players to Watch
By Jay Meade
H-Back Braxton Miller
A lot of people may have been expecting maybe a Michael Thomas or Nick Vannett, but I have my reasons to choose Braxton Miller over them.
Michigan Wolverines
Miller, a fifth-year senior and former quarterback turned H-back, is the second most explosive player on this entire offense. He has the ability to be able to cut hard, accelerate with explosion and torch most defenses. He is a weapon when carrying the ball, throwing the ball, or catching the ball. He’s the most dynamic player on this roster, in my opinion.
So far this season he has 38 carries for 228 yards and 1 touchdown. He also has 22 receptions for 323 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Miller commands attention from defenses, and if he doesn’t get it, he may just spin off a defender and haul tail into the endzone. His “B” button definitely works. Michigan State was helped significantly by the pass rush getting to Barrett as soon as he would hit his drop, because Miller was open on more than one occasion and headed to the endzone. If only Barrett had a little more time.
With Jourdan Lewis likely taking on Michael Thomas a majority of the time, expect Peppers to stick on Miller. I have faith that Peppers’ athleticism and talent can keep him in check.
Next: LB Raekwon McMillan
