Remember when a big question mark heading into this season was who would be Michigan’s place kicker? Good times.

Kenny Allen has securely locked himself into that No. 1 job and has been more reliable than just about anyone expected.

Allen has drilled 10 of 12 field goals this season and is perfect from inside 40 yards. His long of 47 yards came against Northwestern.

As you’re probably aware of, it’s pretty easy for the kicker to became the least popular guy in town, but Allen has kept things silent through seven games, which is exactly what you hope for.

Michigan hasn’t had a game come down to a last-minute or last-second field goal, but if it does, there’s a lot more confidence now than there would have been just a couple months ago.
