Connor Cook wasn’t quite a Heisman favorite, but he certainly was more than a dark horse at the same time. Ending last season with a 58.1 completion percentage, 3,214 yards passing, 24 touchdowns, only eight picks, and a quarterback rating of 149.9, he was a top-five quarterback in college football.

He’s already had a pretty hot start to his 2015 campaign with 97 completions on 162 attempts, grabbing a career high 59.9 completion percentage. To add to that he already has 1,334 passing yards and leads the nation with 12 passing touchdowns. He only has two picks against him and a quarterback rating of 151.0.

Cook is looking to raise his draft ticket. This is his final year to do so, and this would definitely be a big game to impress some folks up high.

This year is easily his best when having to move the ball himself. To this point he has 19 rushes for 68 yards, averaging 3.6 yards a carry. Cook is a very quick thinker, and he’s got a wicked release. Just when you think you have him, chances are someone else already has the ball.

Cook is an above-average decision-maker, and he’s pretty good throwing on the run as well. I expect the senior quarterback to have a big impact on this game, and be a huge reason that it’s a close one.
