He’s a calm leader
Peters wasn’t one of the guys going crazy in the hype circle before the game or at half time. He didn’t run all over creation with his fist in the air after a big play. Even after his most impressive displays of elite quarterback talent he was immediately jogging to the sideline to get his next play call.

After each possession he was back on the same bench with at most one assistant and one player around him. His leadership was displayed by example, and it’s even more impressive when you consider how frustrated he has to be at times with an offensive line that can’t protect him.
The best example of this was after taking that big hit that caused the game-sealing interception. One of his lineman, who was visibly frustrated, tossed his helmet high in the air and out onto the field.
Who’s there to pick it up? Peters. He didn’t seem to be overly friendly in that situation (would you be?), but it was something you wouldn’t expect to see the team’s unprotected superstar doing.
