3. Safety-
Safety became maybe the most intriguing position battle after Jabrill Peppers moved positions from corner to safety. Adding to the intrigue is the fact that Peppers is likely going to move down to the nickel spot in certain packages, meaning there will almost be three starters at safety. Jarrod Wilson is the favorite to start opposite Peppers in base defenses. Outside of those two, guys like Delano Hill, Jeremy Clark, and Dymonte Thomas all have a lot of ability and starting experience at safety. I would peg Hill to be the guy to take over for Peppers when he moves to nickel corner. Safety is probably Michigan’s deepest position, and the competition will be a lot of fun to watch.
