Complete 2015 Michigan Quarterback Analysis and Grades
By Will Ropp
Wilton Speight (Redshirt Freshman)
Speight came into Michigan as a highly regarded 4 star talent with offers from other notable programs such as Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia. Standing at 6-foot-6, 235 pounds, Speight is the biggest of the group, which could prove to help his chances at earning the starting spot. Harbaugh seems to prefer larger pocket passing quarterbacks that have the ability to scramble when needed. Speight was redshirted during his first year with the team and didn’t see any action in the most recent spring game. This leaves Speight’s ability clouded in mystery. Speight has the physical frame that Harbaugh would love to work with, but the fact that he lost the spring practice start to incoming freshman Alex Malzone doesn’t bode well for him.
