4. 1965 Tournament-

Five players from Michigan’s 1965 team were drafted into the NBA, but the team was led mainly by Cazzie Russell and Bill Buntin. Both players were All-Americans and helped Michigan finish the regular season as the number one team in the country. The tournament back then was only 16 teams and Michigan defeated Dayton, Vanderbilt, and Princeton to make the title game. In the title game they lost to John Wooden’s UCLA Bruins.
