Michigan Wolverine Recruiting: Kingston Davis (RB) 2016 Prospect
Kingston Davis, a 2016 running back prospect from Prattville, Alabama and plays for Prattville high school and has interest in Michigan.
Davis is the teammate of 2015 signed commit to Michigan Keith Washington who was a 3-star prospect signing with Michigan on letter of intent day. That should help get Michigan at least a visit and possibly more if he sees the playing time could be possible very early on.

Now the biggest issue with him will be if he leaves the south? We believe Michigan will likely get a visit from him and possibly even unofficial visit as well. A lot of SEC programs will sell him on playing running back at the next level such as Mississippi State and Southern Miss, but we see him more of a fullback/tailback in a Jim Harbaugh type of offense. Where he can do everything and something we haven’t seen used a lot the past seven years out of a fullback at Michigan. A position in the past was either never used during the RR era or just used mostly as a blocker in the Brady Hoke era.
Harbaugh has been known to use the fullback position and use it quite effectively in the running game, passing game, and of course blocking. The biggest issue might be convincing a tailback to turn into a fullback at the college level while other programs will be selling him on being a tailback for them.
Talking with Rivals, “My coach called me into his office, Coach Bam,” Davis explained. “He got me on the phone with the head coach, Coach [Jim] Harbaugh, and we talked for a little while, and he told me I had an offer from them. He said he liked big backs – big, fast, and strong backs. He said he watched my film, and I was everything he was looking for in a back.”
“I’m physical, I run with power and speed in one,” he said. “I probably want to improve my quickness. I’m looking for team that likes to run the football and is successful with it. I want a team that puts people into The League, the next level. And I want a winning program.”
With Michigan in the mix – and Harbaugh at the helm – the Wolverines have a shot to prove they’re that program. Davis plans to take his time and make his college commitment after his senior season, so when the time comes, he’ll have a good idea of what the Wolverines will try to do on offense going forward.

Other schools who have offered Davis include Louisville, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, and Troy.
He looks to take his time with his decision on what school he will attend college and will not announce until after his senior football season is over.

CoachBT’s Comments:
Would not be surprised if he plays both fullback and tailback if he comes to Michigan. Good package of size, speed, and athletic ability. Surprisingly fluid for a big back. Moves his feet well and shows nice change of direction.
Jim Harbaugh did the same thing at Stanford with his bigger backs by playing them at both fullback and tailback. Think of a LeRoy Hoard mostly for the older Michigan fans, but B.J. Askew as well for the type of player at Michigan who played both.
JH did same thing with that big FB/TB at Stanford.

The 2016 recruiting class will be a lot bigger than the previous couple years of recruiting at Michigan which will be a good thing for Jim Harbaugh and staff to start bringing in their own players that they want to build around this Michigan program.
As of right now we have a total of 18 scholarships that will likely be handed out to the 2016 recruiting class, but we imagine this number will gradually go up with players transferring or deciding to leave Michigan.
So far, the 2016 recruiting class has Erik Swenson (OL) and Dele Harding (LB) in the class.
