Michigan Football Recruiting: Things Are Starting To Heat Up Again For The Wolverines
Laquon Treadwell @SuccessfulQuon had a very good day with core6 on Saturday at the IMG event. Some that were there said he was the top performer of the day.
Shane Morris and Laquon was having a good battle off and on the field. Here are a couple of twitter comments.
Laquon: “Yeah Shane team beat mines @S_Morris12 but he didn’t mention how I didn’t want to catch two picks on him I didn’t want to hurt his feelings.”
Shane: We beat @SuccessfulQuon and #Core6 today…. But we didn’t beat him too bad, I didn’t want him to get mad at me and not come to Michigan”He also tweeted “I will be in Ann Arbor, stop by to speak to the coach’s later!” So that is always good news whenever a recruit returns to Ann Arbor to see the coaches and the Michigan campus.” He stopped by Ann Arbor with his Core 6 group.
Logan Tuley-Tillman has created a buzz lately. He has been a firm commit for Michigan for quite awhile, but the Buckeyes keep on sending him letters even though Buckeye faithful don’t believe he is worthy enough for an offer. Well we think Tillman has made it known where he stands for the Buckeyes and also trying to send them a message to save the environment and stop sending him letters all the time.
Another Michigan commit Mike McCray who wasn’t “worthy” even though his father was was a captain for the Buckeyes in the 1980s was offered by Ohio State the other day. That kind of puts egg on a lot of Buckeye fans faces after saying he wasn’t good enough for the new Urban Meyer’s Buckeye squad. Well on twitter he pretty much cemented his commitment that “I am not going anywhere and I am a Wolverine for Life.”
As for the IMG event in Michigan on Saturday Shane Morris lead his Maximum Exposure team to a 4-0 record on the day with a possible re-match with Laquon team on Sunday. Csont’e York played with Shane for the first time this weekend and did quite well. His stock continues to rise and seems like a player that will be a lot better than the recruiting sites have stated so far, but we know how they change their mind more than a 17 year old recruit does so we are sure he will be a highly ranked recruit when all said and done. Probably be a 4-star sooner or later on all sites. He has the knack for going up and coming down with the ball.
Laquon Treadwell had a very good day and people can see why so many college programs are after him. Will be an interesting next couple of months as he winds down to a decision. Michigan looks to be the early leader and things are looking good to bolster the Michigan receiving core, but in recruiting you never know until February and when the LOI comes in with the recruits signature on the fax from the coaches office.
Jourdan Lewis had a decent day, but wasn’t matched up with Laquon probably because of his size that could be a big factor at the college level. He shoes very good cornerback skills with hips and recovering when being beaten by a receiver.
Looking at 2014 targets keep an eye on another Cass Tech recruit in Damon Webb. He was matched up with Laquon for most of the day and had his moments. Treadwell had a good/great day, but Damon did quite well especially being one of the younger members of the team being a 2014 recruit and being matched up with one of the best receivers in the 2013 recruiting class.
Looks like the class of 2013 or as they are referring to themselves as part of “Team 134” seems to be solid as any 17 year old recruit can be these days. A long time to go until February of 2013, but looks like this class will be solid, and a very good class as well. As things are going right now got to believe this class will finish in the top 5 after all is said and done.
