2013 Michigan offensive linemen commit Logan Tuley-Tillman took some time to answer a few questions for us! How does he feel about criticism and his assessments of his play?

GBMWolverine Profile on: Logan Tuley-Tillman

GBMWolverine: Let’s start with the day you committed. Did you feel rushed to commit? Especially with these commits coming in at a fever pitch. Or was this something you felt that the time was right?

Logan Tuley-Tillman: It was just something I felt was the right time. After I heard Kyle (Bosch) committed I knew I had one of my friends there to go with me along with my family that lives up there.

GBMWolverine: How do you feel about this haul of offensive lineman in the ’12 and ’13 classes Michigan has secured?

Logan Tuley-Tillman: I’m loving it. It’s a unit only as strong as their weakest member. These past two classes, it’s going to be hard to find one, if any.

GBMWolverine: Do you feel you can come in as a true Freshman and take over a starting position on the line?

Logan Tuley-Tillman: Yeah, I honestly feel I can. But, that’s up to my coaches to decide.

GBMWolverine: I know you saw a lot of attention from powerhouse programs. Has it always been Michigan? Or did you second guess your desire to play anywhere else during any part of your recruitment?

Logan Tuley-Tillman: Oh yeah, I did. But at the end of the day, I feel home here and have family close to me, that’s what did it.

GBMWolverine:

I noticed in a interview conducted with you and your mother. Did your moms opinion on a school you were interested in ultimately help you with your decision?

Logan Tuley-Tillman: Yeah, that was the biggest thing that set it apart from Alabama, USC and Texas when it came down to it.

GBMWolverine: With these members of Team 134, have you ever witnessed a group of guys become so tight-knit in such a short amount of time? Especially considering they are separated throughout the country.

Logan Tuley-Tillman: Honestly, no it’s just invigorating to know that we are ALL great players but are all about the TEAM!

GBMWolverine: What Michigan blogs do you follow? Did they have any impact on your recruitment? Also, how do you respond to criticism? Do you agree with some of the assessments of you?

Logan Tuley-Tillman: I don’t follow any of them. Some of them made my outlook on Michigan almost seem negative. How could you be a University of Michigan fan and throw dirt on one of your own recruits names? Which makes no sense because talented recruits can go play anywhere in the country. But, they pick the school you write for. That should excite you. No, I don’t agree with a lot of their assessments because most of them have never been a lineman or knows what it takes to get the job done.

I know I have things to work on, but what lineman out of high school doesn’t? I understand critiquing things but there’s a difference between hating on someone and having an objective opinion. I don’t usually ever respond, I just use it to fuel me in my case of greatness. All my life everyone has always told me what I couldn’t do and how I’d never be anything in life but a product of my environment. I love all of these opinions because at the end of the day, I can look in the mirror and say I’ve made my family proud and I am a Michigan Man. That’s what fires me up in the morning, that I have a chance to be a part of something great and it’s up to me to work for it.

GBMWolverine: Building on that, do you think that negative reporting on recruits could’ve turned you away? Or do you learn to look passed it?

Logan Tuley-Tillman: No, I don’t think that could’ve turned me away. I don’t care what bloggers say, this is Michigan for God’s sake! (Laughs).

GBMWolverine: Are you in La’Quon Treadwell’s ear at all and trying to get him to commit? Also, who else have you been talking to and trying to make them commit?

Logan Tuley-Tillman: Yeah, he’s my boy! We’re tight. I’m not per se trying to get them to commit to commit right away, I’m just trying to let them know that we’re a family here. We don’t just say it, you can feel it. Since I was a high-profile guy like they are I’m trying to let them know that I’ve been to a lot of other places but, “This Is Michigan.”
