+++ Coming off of injury.

Oct 12, 2013; University Park, PA, USA; Michigan Wolverines wide receiver Jehu Chesson (86) during the third quarter against the Penn State Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium. Penn State defeated Michigan 43-40 in overtime. Mandatory Credit: Matthew OYes we have Devin Funchess at both tight end and wide receiver going into spring football. Will be interesting to see where he lines up or if the coaching staff takes a more liberal approach and moves him around all over the place.

He is the leading receiver coming back from the past season which lost two good receivers in Devin Gardner’s favorite target Jeremy Gallon and also slot receiver Drew Dileo.

How will Coach Nussmeier approach the receivers this year? Can Funchess turn into a tight end that can actually block which is more mental than physical a lot of the times.

How will Amara Darboh coming off of injury do this spring? Can Jehu Chesson take the next step up and become a big part of the offense. He has shown he can be a very effective blocker, but now is the time that he needs to show he can catch the ball, but once again Devin Gardner has to look to him as well. You can be open as can be, but still need the ball thrown your way.

November 10, 2012; Ann Arbor, MI, USA; Northwestern Wildcats running back Venric Mark (5) is tackled by Michigan Wolverines Amara Darboh (82) and linebacker Brandin Hawthorne (7) in the first quarter at Michigan Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY SportsHow will the slot receivers be used on Coach Nuss? Having guys like Norfleet and possible Da’Mario Jones be effective in this position.

Also already on campus is incoming freshmen Drake Harris and Freddy Canteen. Having both on campus is a big plus along with the possibility of those two getting early playing time this upcoming season. Would think one would play for sure and possible both and spring time we will get a better idea where they might line up as well.

Nov 2, 2013; East Lansing, MI, USA; Michigan Wolverines wide receiver Dennis Norfleet (23) runs back the kick-off against Michigan State Spartans during the second half of a game at Spartan Stadium. MSU won 29-6. Mandatory Credit: Mike Carter-USA TODAY SportsGoing out on a limb a little bit here, but believe this group of receivers is actually more talented depth-wise throughout the receivers roster than last years even though we lost Gallon as our best receiver. Now the dreaded “potential” needs to come off of these young players and time to see them improve and take the next step. A lot of opportunity is out there for this group and the need to make a impact is very necessary for this team this coming year.
