Can Michigan got out of the funk of what happened during the Akron game. This team has went through a roller-coaster of emotions along with the Michigan fan-base. Fans had Devin Gardner as a possible heisman candidate, a first rounder draft pick in next years draft, and the team being one of the better teams in the country.

How quickly that all goes to waste as the team played just about as poorly as possible against Akron, but still was able to find a way to win the game.

This week a lot fewer mistakes, a lot fewer mental issues and this team should get back on track, but will they?

Michigan needs to show they can move the ball without turning it over. Whenever you turn the ball over it cost more than just giving the ball to the other team it defeats your team and forces the defense to get back on the field before they probably should along with not giving your offense a opportunity to score.

I am hoping Michigan can solve the turnover bug, get Devin more comfortable in the pocket, establish a running game and would like to see a couple of backs getting carries early on to see how they will do.

Think if the turnovers are marginal Michigan should win this game comfortable, but if they continue to turn the ball over we could possible see another repeat of last week, but worse because we could lose the game.

I’m over Akron…I think! My best guess is we show up this week and beat the living hell out of UConn! This is a big home game for The Huskies and their fans &they’ve been waiting for this game. Then Dave Brandon tried to change venues on them. Does that mean they’ll be overcome with emotion and emboldened by the disrespect from Michigan? Probably not. This is a business trip and should best be approached that way by Michigan. Last week was a joke…and I hold Coach Hoke and his staff fully responsible for the pitiful performance. You are the adults, and you are coaching this assortment of youth. The difference is you are being paid very well to make sure they are ready. Harsh? I suppose so, but this is the reality in which we operate. This needs to be a beat down! Will It? I’ve seen nothing to convince me that this team is any different than the Rich Rod teams we watched for those three long years. Disagree with me? I don’t care. Show me you can go on the road and pummel an opponent that is clearly sub Big 10. If we can’t…this could be one long season.

I’m done with the mindless supporters of this program who keep saying we’re on the way back. Either you beat their ass, or we’re in for a long season. I don’t care what the environment is….UConn is a bad football team. I like Brady…but the clock is ticking. Big recruits = Big results. I’m not impressed at this point.

WerlsWolverine:

If Devin Gardner can handle the pressure along with not turning the ball over Michigan should win this game easily, but will they? Not sure Devin can handle the pressure or for that matter limit the amount of turnovers as well. Was the Notre Dame game a once in a lifetime type of performance for him or will we see him regain his confidence and establish himself as the quarterback at the University of Michigan.

Three things stand out going into this weekend’s game against U-Conn:

1. Michigan’s OL and DL has been underwhelming
2. Michigan’s secondary plays too soft and is almost in prevent mode
3. The Wolverines are turning the ball over too much

So, how do you fix this going into the first road game of the season against a team that the Wolverines “should” handle?

Keep the game plan simple offensively, taking what U-Conn gives without forcing the ball.

Defensively, the execution is on the players- constant blitzing will only mask the symptoms described above.

Protect the ball, beginning with DG.

IF those things are cleaned up…

Michigan goes to 4-0 with a systematic 27-13 win.
