Michigan Football: the tweet, The Tweet, THE TWEET! — 8/16/2013

GBMWolverine Readers: Here is a overview of University of Michigan happenings in the Twitterverse.

The USA Today and American Family Insurance 2013 Preseason All-USA High School Football Team list is out. The list is littered with Michigan commits and remaining prospects.  This should show us fans what a bang-up job the staff is doing on the recruiting trail. The list contains current 2014 and 2015 commits WR George Campbell, OL Mason Cole, WR Drake Harris, LB Michael Ferns, and DB Jabrill Peppers.

It also has prospects the Wolverines are on, such as Da’Shawn Hand, and RB Leonard Fournette.  Anyone who does not see what success Hoke and company are having in bringing talent back to the Michigan roster are simply lost, or delusional.

Speaking of setting the bar high, we all know what a beast junior defensive end Frank Clark is. Last year he registered 19 solo tackles, 9 assists, and 9 tackles for a loss.  However, the defensive front was less than impressive in generating sacks averaging just 1.69 per game, tied for 78th in the nation with Louisville, Purdue, and Louisiana-Monroe with 13 total all year. In that total, Clark was responsible for two, and he identifies that is simply not enough, this year he wants to record at least 10 sacks. Let’s hope he exceeds this goals, and especially with repeat wood-laying like the one on Braxton Miller.

To continue with recruiting and wood-laying, keep an eye out on the 23rd of August.  Consensus four-star 2015 defensive back Shaun Crawford from Lakewood, Ohio’s St. Edward will be making his college selection live on ESPN.  Crawford has been a life-long Michigan fan, and most recruiting analysts are waging that he will select the Wolverines.  The only other strong competition is the Fighting Irish, but to date they have not offered him.  If he does choose the maize and blue, he will be joining an already star-studded 2015 commit list, for what is to be a small, but talented squad including WR George Campbell, and RB Damien Harris.

The Big Ten Network rolled through Ann Arbor on the 10th of August as part of their Fall Bus Tour.  The video program of their time and opinions of the Wolverines will air today at 8 p.m. ET.
