Finally, the Michigan Wolverines got their defensive leader back on the field when they took on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Week 4, and Rod Moore suited up once again.

After missing 18 months due to a torn ACL and meniscus, followed by multiple surgeries and an extremely lengthy rehab, Moore finally got back to the game he loves so much. Then, he received the loving round of applause that he deserved.

As Moore and his teammates walked off the field, with a 30-27 win over Nebraska in their back pockets, Michigan fans cheered him on, welcoming their captain back to action.

Moore didn't play every snap on the defensive side of the ball, but he did make sure that his presence was felt, bringing down one big tackle against the Cornhuskers.

That one tackle, in his first game back, looked like all Moore needed to get back on track as he returned to football.

The last time Moore appeared in a game for Michigan was when the Wolverines played in, and won, the National Championship. In that game, the defensive back earned four total tackles as Michigan dismantled the Washington Huskies.

Moore first came to Michigan in 2021, starting in four games as a true freshman and playing in 11 total games, including the Big Ten Championship against Iowa and the College Football Playoff semifinals against Georgia.

Including the matchup against Nebraska, Moore has recorded 143 total tackles (92 solo), seven pass deflections, six interceptions for 109 yards, and 0.5 sacks.

Next week, Moore and the Wolverines take on the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday, Oct. 4. Kickoff time has yet to be announced.
