3 teams Michigan must add to the schedule that it has never played before

Insights of whipping up some intriguing meetings with schools that Michigan has never faced before on the football field would be a goldmine for the sport.

Future schedules are still open to make a deal with a school that Michigan football has never played before and should be on the table. Options ought to be considered instead of scheduling a MAC squad or some random university that is just looking for a payday.

Narrowing it down to about three programs that the Wolverines have never played before on the gridiron is just the tip of the iceberg.

3 teams Michigan football has never played before

Boise State

Now members of the Pac-12 conference, Boise State has no fear when it comes to playing the big boys of college football. Scheduling a home-and-home series with the Broncos would do wonders for their ticket sales, although their stadium holds 70,000 less seats than the Big House. The best thing would be to meet in Las Vegas, at Allegiant stadium or somewhere close to Idaho that holds a larger capacity. Although playing on the blue turf in Boise would be fun for both parties involved.

Albertsons stadium is going to get a renovation, but only to make it a little smaller. That shouldn't scare Michigan away from playing in a place like that. They have played in smaller venues on the road in the past.

North Dakota State

Another program who is moving up the ladder to division one, is North Dakota State. The Bison are joining the Mountain West conference and for Michigan, it would be like playing Appalachian State all over again in a way. There's no reason that Michigan would play at the Fargodome unless they added about 25,000 seats or so, but a game in Milwaukee or Minneapolis could do the trick to satisfy a home game for the Bison.

Fargodome renovations have been discussed and with a football hungry fanbase in North Dakota, creating more seats to entice bigger programs to come to Fargo, would grow their community in mass. North Dakota State is only going to become a more preferred destination for those who want to play for a contender in the Mountain West. In 2028, the Bison have already scheduled a trip to Eugene, to play the Ducks. Rumor also has it that the Bison are already planning on more powerhouses like this to ramp up their future schedules.

LSU

Primetime in Death Valley with record-breaking crowds in the stands and viewing in is exactly what college football craves. It's too bad that Bryce Underwood won't get to play there, while at Michigan. Lane Kiffin on one sideline and Kyle Whittingham on the other would be like good versus evil. The Tiger stadium attendance for a night matchup with the maize and blue inside might measure on the Richter scale.
