One of the biggest question marks surrounding Michigan football right now is whether or not Will Johnson will return to the field this season for the Wolverines.

He missed another game on Saturday, which was the second in a row. However, Sherrone More, the Michigan football head coach, put to bed any doubt about whether Johnson will return this season.

"For sure," Moore said via Alejandro Zuniga of 247 Sports. "We'll see" is what he said about Johnson's status for Saturday's game against No. 1 Oregon.

Some fans have questioned Johnson, which doesn't make sense. The dude is a Michigan football legend and I have no doubt he'll be out there as soon as he's 100 percent, or close.

Moore poured cold water on the idea that Johnson might shut it down for the rest of the season.

“Will has no plan of just shutting it down," Moore said via Zach Shaw of The Michigan Insider. "If he could go out there, he would go out there in a heartbeat. … I know he’ll be back.”

There's no reason to doubt Johnson's commitment to the team. He's just been stuck with the injury bug during his career. Johnson missed the end of the USC game, plus the game against Illinois and Michigan State.

Hell, he had to miss some of the Ohio State game in 2023. But at his position especially, on an island, it's hard to play if you aren't right.

Hopefully, Johnson can play on Saturday. Michigan football needs all hands on deck, but the Wolverines don't want a shell of Johnson forcing himself on the field because when he's healthy, he's the best cornerback in college football.
